It’s still there. Oh my gosh, I woke up this morning, looked out the window in front of me – thought I dreamed this whole scene but I am looking at it right now…the most beautiful vista imaginable. This small villa is located in the center of Orcas Island, right in the heart of the East sound. The Outlook Inn, where we are staying, is within walking distance of all kinds of tiny shops and extraordinary restaurants. Our little place has a private balcony overlooking the bay; two steps down opposite from our king size bed, is a rectangular living room, cattycorner from the couch is the gas fireplace burning gently, because it is cool here in the mornings. Around the bedroom area behind the beautiful view of the East Sound, around the kitchen area down the tiny hall you’ll find a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and a towel heater. You can see where my priorities are – warm towels…
Today the wind is blowing pretty hard. It is whistling a stunning sound. Right in front of me in the Sound the trees are swaying, the American flag is whipping and there are small white caps on the ocean. Pretty soon the morning fog will clear up and all will be right with the world.
